Expertise

Mainly using in vivo but also cell culture models I have a profound interest in the complex mechanisms involved in the pathophysiology of both hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke. During my PhD-thesis I studied the role of cortical spreading depolarizations in the setting of intracerebral hemorrhage (Cenk Ayata, Boston; Matthias Endres, Berlin). Currently I am investigating the effects of novel lipid lowering therapies on both hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke (Matthias Endres, Christoph Harms, Berlin; Ulrich Laufs, Leipzig).

For a full list of my publications please check my ORCID account.
