Lab Division Banner Biochemistry Department of Experimental Neurology

The focus of the biochemical lab lies on proteomics, mainly western blotting. Hereby, protein detection is usually performed by NIR fluorescence with Li-Cor Odyssey Clx, thus allowing quantitative analysis over a wide dynamic range.

For even higher sensitivity chemiluminescence signals can be assessed with a high-end chemiluminescence detection system. Beside western blotting enzyme activities and metabolites concentrations can be assessed with luminescence, fluorescence and absorption plate readers. Also an HPLC system is available in the Experimental Neurology department.

Expertise is provided for all these biochemical techniques.
